Hallo Clown:innen und Clown-Interessierte (einschließlich aller Närr:innen, Payases, Bouffons, Witzbold:innen, Schelm:innen und mehr)!
Im August laden wir euch zur CLOWNVENTION in die Zirkushalle Dornbirn ein: ein einwöchiges Treffen von Clown:innen in einer schönen Kleinstadt in Österreich, nahe der Schweizer und deutschen Grenze. In dieser pittoresken Landschaft bieten wir Zeit und Raum für Clown:innen aus aller Welt, um sich zu treffen, zu spielen und auszutauschen.
Der Fokus der Clownvention liegt auf dem Austausch von Skills und Arbeitsweisen aller Teilnehmenden, es finden keine klassischen Workshops statt. Es gibt Laboratorien und Jams, eine Clown Lounge, einen Flohmarkt, ein Schwarzes Brett, eine Bibliothek und eine Videothek. Dazu kommen Indoor- und Open-Air-Shows, ein Cabaret und eine Open Stage, ein Symposium, eine Silly Dance Party und eine Clown-Parade. (Was ist das genau? Hier erfährst du mehr.)
Warum machen wir das?
Weil wir neugierig sind. Wir wollen Brücken zwischen den vielen kleinen Clown-„Inseln” bauen. Wir möchten Netzwerke stärken und uns gegenseitig inspirieren, um neue Ideen für die Bühne zu finden und aufzutreten. Wir möchten gemeinsam einen Raum schaffen, der auf Horizontalität, Zusammenarbeit und Dialog basiert – einen Raum, in dem wir erkunden können, was Clownerie für uns und die Welt von heute bedeutet.
Vielleicht ist das die Woche, in der du die Liebe deines Clownlebens, die Regisseur:in deiner Träume, die Clowncompagnie deines Herzens, oder die Antwort auf deine brennenste Clownfrage findest. Mach mit, spiel mit uns und lass uns eine Woche lang gemeinsam einen Ort kreieren, an dem neue Freundschaften, kühne Ideen und unvergessliche Clownmomente entstehen.

This August, we invite you to the CLOWNVENTION in the Zirkushalle Dornbirn: a one-week gathering of clowns in a beautiful small town in Austria, near the Swiss and German borders. It’s a perfect landscape—with time and space—for clowns from all over to meet, play, and exchange.
The Clownvention is a space for sharing skills and practices between the participants, instead of a workshop led by a teacher. The week will include self-organized labs, clown jams, a clown lounge, flea market, library, indoor and outdoor shows, cabaret, open stage, symposium, silly dance party, and a clown parade. Why this idea?
Because we’re curious. We believe in building bridges between the many small clown “islands,” strengthening networks, and inspiring one another to create and perform. We want to co-create a space based on horizontality, cooperation, and dialogue—where we can explore what clowning means to us and to the world today.
This might be the week where you meet the love of your clown life, the director you’ve been searching for, the company you’ve been dreaming of joining or creating, or the answer to the burning clown question that’s currently eating you up. Join us, play with us, and help make this gathering a place where new friendships, wild ideas, and unforgettable clown moments can unfold!
